Black Holes across Cosmic Time

David Moore of Astronomy Ireland talks to Noel McGuinness about the public lecture on 8th January “Black Holes across Cosmic Time”. The talk will focus on the formation of black holes across the history of the universe. It will look at why we are interested in understanding the formation mechanisms for black holes; describe the various theories for the formation mechanisms of black holes, and describe recent breakthroughs in Gravitational Wave astronomy which has opened up a new window in observations of black holes.
