Dr. Aedín McLoughlin of Good Energies Alliance Ireland and a representative of the Irish Environmental Pillar talks to Noel McGuinness about the passing of the Dáil Bill to ban onshore fracking in Ireland. After six years of campaigning Aedín says that environmental groups applauded when the Bill was passed in the Dáil on Wednesday morning. The legislation now goes to the Seanad where it is expected to be passed. After that Ireland will join three other EU member states – France, Germany and Bulgaria – and regions of a number of countries in banning hydraulic fracturing on land.
