Blossom Ireland launches it’s inaugural occupational therapy led summer camps for children with intellectual disabilities

Interview with Auveen Bell Blossom Ireland on the 24th of August 2011. Programme hosted by Connie O’Reilly.

Blossom Ireland is a northside charity set-up by two hardworking mums to provide respite to children with intellectual disabilities and their families. Their first project was to run therapy-led camps for these children. The aim was to give children aged between 8 and 12years with intellectual disabilities a chance to have some fun during the summer while their parents got a well earned break. Blossom Ireland heavily subsidised the camps to ensure that parents did not have to pay a premium which is so often the case when dealing with services for children with intellectual disabilities. The inaugural camps are just over and were a great success. It is the charities intention to run more camps in 2012.
