Laura Broxson of the National Animal Rights Association (NARA) gave details of the upcoming protests the organisation has planned. Firstly, on October 1st. Anti-fur protests at Barnardos Furs, Costume, Coco Boutique and Petit to take place between 1 and 3 PM. Secondly on November 19th, a march to promote the closure of all slaughterhouses in Dublin City to take place starting at 1 PM. She also talked about the animal cruelty resulting from the export of live cattle which has recently been resumed to Turkey. Also the cruelty to Geese resulting from the practice of Foie Gras, made from the enlarged livers of male ducks and geese who are force fed up to 7 pounds of food daily. Although Foie Gras is not practiced in Ireland, imports are permitted. Laura also gave a list of Vegan restaurants in Dublin, including Cornucopia in Wicklow St., Blazing Salads Drury St., Govindas Aungier Street Middle Abbey Street and Merrion Row, and Delhi O’Deli Moore Street, Umi Falafel Dame Street.
