Joe O’Byrne, playwright and director, talks to Noel McGuinness about “The Rising” which is part of the upcoming Five Lamps Arts Festival. The play is set in the tumultuous days of the 1916 Rising and in an action-packed ninety minutes the story of the Rising is told through the eyes of two friendly adversaries, O’Brien, a Catholic and McKeague, a Protestant. It will be performed at Liberty Hall Theatre at 8pm on 9th, 10th and 11th March.
