Dublin City Council Children’s Art in Libraries

IRMA GROTHIUS is coordinator of Dublin City Council Children’s Art in Libraries (CAL) programme. She talks to Noel McGuinness about this programme of free events in Dublin libraries that give children the opportunity to see visual arts, theatre, music and dance. This year CAL has commissioned artist AIDEEN BARRY to create a children’s exhibition which will be on display in Cabra Library from 2-19th December. The exhibition, called “Ludo”, offers an imaginative and unique world created out of paper and film, inspired by answers from 9 year olds to questions about their lives for a survey called “Growing Up In Ireland”. The exhibition will be accompanied by a series of workshops for schools (suitable for 9-12 year olds). For more information contact Cabra Library tel: 01 869 1414.
