Older Women and Irish Culture & Heritage
A group of ladies from Own attend a Seisiún Ceoil ie. a traditional Irish music session, at Clasac in Clontarf, and another at Cultúrlann na hEireann in Monkstown, Co Dublin, to record music and interviews with musicians and guests as well as audience members. This programme examines the interaction of our older women guests with the living tradition of Irish music and record their experiences and impressions. In this program we ask the question ‘What is the role of the older female artist in traditional Irish music? We examine the impact older women have made in this area and continue to make today.
