Nathalie Moyano Gonzalez, Director of the Dublin Flamenco Festival, talks to Noel McGuinness about Flamenco dancing and music and the many events that will take place in this year’s festival. She says that this is the fifth year the festival will take to Dublin’s stages and streets, with stunning dancers and musicians from the world of flamenco. On the opening day of the festival, Saturday 10th October, journalist and flamenco expert Manuel Moraga will give a talk about flamenco legend, dancer, choreographer, composer and storyteller Mario Maya, who was probably the greatest flamenco artist of his time. As well as this, there will be a wide range of activities throughout the festival, including free family classes, flamenco flashmobs, masterclasses, and a performance “Baile de Palabra” (Dance of Word) at The Helix on 24th October.
