Healthy Portion Sizes

Dr. Marian Faughnan of safefood talks to Noel McGuinness about healthy portion sizes. She explains that safefood’s recent report shows that people think that portion sizes are only relevant when they are dieting and that one in three people find managing portion sizes is difficult. The report also found that food products with health or nutrition claims like “low fat” or “reduced fat” may also be contributing to weight gain, as many people assume these products are lower in calories than they really are and as a result they eat larger portions of them.
