Barry Finnegan TTIP Interview

Barry Finnegan – Lecturer @ Griffith College  Noel McGuinness talks to Barry Finnegan , a lecturer @Griffith College and Member of ATTAC (Association for the Taxation of financial Transactions and Aid to Citizens). ATTAC are one of a number of organisations working hard to stop the implementation of the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP). TTIP is a proposed Trade Agreement between the EU and the USA. Barry explains there is a very real fear that  TTIP could detrimentally affect the ability of national Governments to implement changes to policy. Changes like an increase in minimum wage for example, could be blocked by corporations signed up to TTIP. These corporations will also have the ability to take sovereign governments to arbitration, if those governments enact any policy or change that affects these corporations. TTIP will have far reaching consequences for all citizens in the future, if you would like more information about TTIP, you can find it here.
