Orla Dolan is the Fundraising Director of Breakthrough Cancer Research. She talks to Noel McGuinness about how the centre began 15 years ago. She explains about their need for funding for their important research projects. She also talks about one of these current projects which uses bacteria found in yogurt which will destroy cancer cells. Through these projects, Orla says they are hoping to increase the number of successful treatments for cancer.
As well as this, she mentions the blog on their website which gives useful facts about foods, having a healthy lifestyle, etc. This summer’s fundraising events include a carriage drive which left Malin Head on 9th July and is on its way to Mizen Head.
