Noel McGuinness talks to Karin Jonsson who is Vice -Chairperson of the Family Resource Centre National Forum. FRCNF have this week said they would be willing to work child specialist agencies to provide Child Contact Centres around the country. Karin believes “There is a grave need for contact services for families who are going through separation, or who have separated.  The stress on children can be minimised if there are designated, supportive spaces where they can meet their parents”. Karin was speaking after the launch of a report by ‘One Family’ on the recommendations arising from a pilot of child contact centres that concluded in 2013. A number of Family Resource Centres (FRCs) acted as the location for the pilot scheme in partnership with children’s charity Barnardos.  You can get more information on the Pilot Scheme here
