Shannon Baker and Steven Turner talk to Noel McGuinness about their recent meeting with President Michael D. Higgins. Steven and Shannon are among a group of  nine young people  recognised by President Higgins for their work in revitalising a flagging local community event. The Belmayne/Clongriffin Family Festival was established by DCC in 2010 and was to be held annually in Fr Collins Park. However the festival did not excite the locals ,so in an effort to reinvigorate it,The Northside Partnership Young Community Leaders go involved.They agreed to take a leadership role in the event and as a result of their work the 2013 event was a huge success.
