Left of the Dial: S.F.U.

SFU

SFU are a Dublin Punk band who formed in July 2010, the original line consisted of Robert Pepper on vocals, Trevor Kirwan on guitar and backing Vocals, Martin Zaloudek (Paranoid Visions) on bass and Fayzer Faye (Skint/Runnin’ Riot) on drums.

Due to a bout of illness, Fayzer left for a time and the band recruited Bernard ‘Brayo’ Brady (Paranoid Visions/Coldwar/Padlock). After the departure of Robert Pepper in the summer of 2012, the band enlisted female front woman Emma Ray, Fayzer having already returned to the fold, to allow Brayo to focus on new band Padlock. They play fast, angry punk, and have been gigging in Dublin and beyond, collecting an enthusiastic and loyal following as they have been going.

They band are currently recording an EP with Mark Derelict of Jobseekers, Ray from Left of the Dial paid them a visit during the recording session, to talk about plans for the EP, and the future.

They play this Saturday night (25th of Jan) in Fibbers on Parnell Street with Corrosive Machine, Jobseekers, Checkpoint and Admission is just €5, and it’s a fundraiser for The Hardcore Jambori Punk Festival 2014, a two day DIY festival happening this summer.
