Left of the Dial: The Zips return to Dublin

The ZipsScottish punk legends The Zips return to Dublin this weekend to play Sweeney’s on Friday the 13th of December.

Lead singer and guitarist Jon joined Ray on Left of the Dial on Sunday night, to discuss the upcoming gig, the new socially conscious material that’s making up their third album, the appropriation of punk in contemporary fashion, spotify, and the return The Clash.

Also in Sweeney’s on the night, the always brilliant The Lee HarveysI am a Car Crash come with new EP White People Problems in tow, and Half Past Dead too. Doors are at 8.30 Free in!

Dublin promises to be buzzing that night as across the road in the Olympia, the Blades play one of the most anticipated gigs of the year.

The Blades finish up around 10.30, and if you’re going, and clever, you’ll skip across the road quickly to catch the Zips. If you’re not, get to Sweeney’s early, the Zips aren’t to be missed!
