In this interview Eoin Drinan talks with Bafta Award winning Writer/Director Bruce Goodison about his latest film “Leave to Remain”.
Based on real-life stories of Afghan teenage asylum seekers, Leave to Remain is a coming of age drama that depicts a world hidden from view.
Bruce discusses the powerful performances from an ensemble cast of emerging talent including young refugees and acclaimed actor, Toby Jones
as well as featuring an original soundtrack from Mercury Music Prize and Novello Award-winners Alt-J.
Bruce notes “that Leave To Remain is undoubtedly his most rewarding and proudest piece of work”.
Tackling the thorny and complicated asylum process in Leave to Remain,Bruce places the spotlight on a system that is heavily flawed and in urgent need of revision.
