Reading Together, is a nearfm initiative, co-funded by the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland\u2019s Sound and Vision Fund. The nearfm crew travelled to different public locations where different readers from the local community read thirteen out of the fifteen stories that constitute James Joyce\u2019s book Dubliners. Dubliners was designed by Dublin: One City, One Book, an award-winning\u00a0Dublin City Council<\/a>\u00a0initiative,\u00a0led by\u00a0Dublin City Public Libraries<\/a>\u00a0as 2011 Book of the Year. Nearfm wanted to join in the celebration organizing a series of public readings, where Joyce\u2019s Dubliners would be read in public spaces, as to reach new audiences.<\/p>\n

Our series starts with the last story of the book, as probably the best known, The Dead. This story was recorded in the Mount Clare Hotel and we were joined by some of the members of the\u00a0Swenys Pharmacy group<\/a>.<\/p>\n
