Each programme serves as an introduction to a different minority sport\u00a0practiced\u00a0in\u00a0Northside\u00a0Dublin.<\/p>\n<p><strong>23. Javelin &amp; Pole Vault<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Field Sports in\u00a0athletics\u00a0are probably the ones that get the least amount of coverage in the media. Blue Ribband events like the 100 and 200 metres, 5000 and 10,000 metres and the marathon all seen to dominate the headlines\u00a0 but that doesn&#8217;t mean that there are not many talented and dedicated athletes taking part in the less heralded but equally demanding field sports. We went along to Morton Stadium in Santry to meet some of the\u00a0participants\u00a0in two of these sports Javelin and Pole-Vault to find out more about these sports and the people who have chosen to compete in them.<\/p>\n<p>Featuring Dave Sweeney, Jenny Murphy,\u00a0 Michael Bowler and Stuart Green.
