He holds a B.Sc. in Applied Sciences (specialising in Physics and Mathematics) and a Master\u2019s in Meteorology. During his career, he worked as a forecaster at Dublin Airport and in the Central Forecasting Office, while also collaborating on research projects with the UK Met Office and the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasting. In this episode of Joy and Jargon, David takes us behind the scenes of weather forecasting and explains the fascinating technical terms and phrases we hear every day on TV and radio, from “cold front” to “unsettled weather” and “band of rain”.<\/p>\n
