The Last day of February was chosen for this because\u00a0<span class=\"aBn\" tabindex=\"0\" data-term=\"goog_1986226789\"><span class=\"aQJ\">February the 29th<\/span><\/span>\u00a0was a \u2018rare day\u2019 &#8211; and while 2018 is not a leap year, it falls on today instead, to make this an annual event. This is to raise awareness for rare diseases and improve access to treatment for individuals with rare diseases and their families.
