Shortlisted Leabhar na Bliana 2014 – Gradam U\u00ed Sh\u00failleabh\u00e1in<\/strong><\/p>\n Aneas<\/em>, meaning from the south, is a celebration of the rich vein of wisdom that is<\/p>\n to be found in the Munster folklore tradition of the West Kerry Gaeltacht. It is also<\/p>\n a collaboration between two artists who live in Corca Dhuibhne \u2013 the writer and<\/p>\n documentary film maker\u00a0Brenda N\u00ed Sh\u00failleabh\u00e1in,\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>a native of Ceann Tr\u00e1, and\u00a0Lanka<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n Haouche,<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0a French photographic artist who has made West Kerry his home.<\/p>\n Combining traditional proverbs, incantations and verse from the living oral tradition<\/p>\n N\u00ed Shuilleabh\u00e1in\u2019s translations and bilingual notes skilfully give context to words of<\/p>\n wisdom that have been shared for many a generation.
