In this 18th episode of Joy and Jargon, Orlane continues the exploration of visual art with figurative painter and art teacher, Eorna Walton.
Eorna draws inspiration from her everyday surroundings — from intimate still lifes in her studio and garden scenes on the East Coast, to the dramatic landscapes of the West of Ireland. Her deep connection to the land grew stronger during Covid when she began camping to paint outdoors. Working quickly in changing light, she captures fleeting moments through small studies before developing them into oil paintings. She also enjoys portraiture and regular life drawing.
Now with more time dedicated to painting, Eorna brings fresh energy and freedom to her artistic practice, while remaining passionate about sharing her process with the wider art community.
